The diamond shaped Isle of Wight just 23 miles by 13 miles is England’s smallest county.  It is separated from the English mainland by the Solent, which has an international reputation for yachting events, the most famous of which is Cowes Week.

 

In the mid 19th century Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought Osborne House as a seaside retreat from Court life in London.  Osborne House is now a popular tourist attraction.

 

The Isle of Wight with its high record of sunshine makes it  ideal to enjoy the many unspoilt beaches it can offer.  The diverse landscape, half of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a walker’s paradise with over 500 miles of footpaths and bridleways.
